RACE FAQ'S

entries and registration

Racepass supports entering anyone into a race, whether they have an account or not. Simply follow these steps:

  • First find the race you wish to enter your friend/family member into
  • Select ‘Enter Now’
  • Select ‘For someone else’
  • The next screen will present 3 options:
    • Enter new athlete – this is for people who have not previously entered a race with Racepass or who do not have an account with us.
    • Recent athletes – this is a list of athletes who you have recently entered into a race, or who are linked to your profile (like children accounts)
    • Search all athletes – search our database of athletes for a person who has entered a race with Racepass before or who has an account with us. You can provide their Email or ID/Passport number, or their Profile ID. Profile ID can be found when logged in to Racepass in the Profile section
  • Once you have made a selection from above you simply follow the prompts to the Pay Now screen at which point you make payment to complete the entry.

You will receive any entry related communications for this person, and if they have an email stored, they will also receive these communications.

You are also able to manage/cancel this persons entry via the My Races section of your profile.

Racepass does not govern the cancellation terms for individual events and races as these are set by the event organiser. The default policy for races on Racepass is that cancellations are not supported.

Where the organiser has a cancellation policy that allows for cancellations prior to the event, you will see these terms displayed on the event page.

To cancel your entry for a permitted event simply follow these steps:

  • Visit https://racepass.com
  • Make sure you are logged in
  • Open the menu (top right)
  • Select ‘My Races’

  • You should now be viewing upcoming races
  • Select ‘View’ for the entry you wish to cancel
  • Select ‘Manage’
  • Select ‘Cancel Signup’
  • Follow the prompts to complete the cancellation

All cancellations will incur a processing fee of 10% of the entry fee (min R20)

Racepass does not govern the substitution terms for individual events and races as these are set by the event organiser. The default policy for races and events on Racepass is that substitutions of entries are not supported.

Where the organiser has a substitution policy that allows for transfers of entries or name changes on bookings, Racepass will mirror and support these terms

To substitute your entry for a permitted event simply follow these steps:

  • You should now be viewing upcoming races
  • Select ‘View’ for the entry you wish to substitute
  • Select ‘Manage’

This can be done via our standard entry flow. After selecting which tickets you need, when entering the participants details, select the For someone else option and follow the prompts.

This can be done for as many people as you like!

In South Africa, Racepass provides the ability to pay with cash in a store at a network of partners through Payat.
Should you want to pay for your entry in cash look out for the ‘Pay in Store’ payment option at checkout.

Once you select this option detailed instructions will be sent to you via email.

Once your entry has been successfully processed you will receive a confirmation email to the email address linked to your Racepass account.

The race will also appear in My Races in the Upcoming section in your profile.

For races that require your running (or cycling or triathlon) club name or licence number, they will ask you during the entry process.

If you wish to update it outside of race entry it can be done in your profile in the Licence / Club Info section.

If you can’t find your booking confirmation email, the first thing to do is check your spam in case it’s landed in there. If you still haven’t tracked it down then get in touch with the team for further help.
